Earth, Wind and Fire - Kim Kielhofner, Kit Malo May 22 to 29, 2005, everyday Galerie VAV 1395 René Lévesque Blvd W., MtlInfo. (514) 848-7388
review:::::::::::::::::::::::::::
with earth wind and fire, kim kielhofner and kit malo prove to be 2 very important up-and-coming artists in the montreal scene. the installation/drawing show was comprised of 5 "change-room" like spaces wherein the audience/participant could go and close themselves off in a world with books of drawings, little tapes of sound, and other intimate tidbits, all within the setting of a very non-intimate space, the gallery...it was a gorgeous feeling, to step inside these small worlds and curtain myself off from the flow of things for a little while. while in their constructed rooms, the gallery seemed to take on another function completely, and almost disappeared from my sense of where i was...not to mention that their drawings alone are beautiful, melodic and quiet...like a old chicago-indy record that can still stand the test of time (the best of tortoise, anyone?)thanks for the marvelous offerings
